INTRODUCTION TO LAMPWORK GLASS BEADMAKING - BEGINNER

This is an introduction to lampwork bead making. You
will learn to make lampworked glass beads using the old Venetian technique
of layering molten glass on a rod to make a bead. Students will learn
the basics of making lampwork beads. This is a one (1) day class and
is an introduction to the five (5) week course provided. Each student
will be supplied with a special Nortel Minor glass working torch, safety
glasses, various colors of Moretti glass and all the tools needed.
Supplies: Each student should bring note-taking supplies.

LAMPWORK GLASS BEADMAKING - BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE

In this six (6) week class, you will learn to make
lampworked glass beads using the old Venetian technique of layering molten
glass
on a rod to make a bead. Students will learn to use color and various
techniques that will enable then to make a multitude of designs. Intermediate
students will learn more advanced lampworking techniques. Each student
will be supplied with a special Nortel Minor glass working torch, safety
glasses, various colors of Moretti glass and all the tools needed. Additional
glass will be available for purchaseSupplies: Each student should bring
a roll of paper towel and note taking supplies.

STAINED GLASS
Instructor: Mary Merges
Class instruction will be in flat glass copper foil
method. Learn to pattern, cut, foil and solder stained glass. Spring
forward with garden
designs to hang in trees, decorate the porch or patio, or brighten up
garden paths. Come with a plan or simply draw on your own creativity.
Supplies: All supplies provided in the materials fee.

GLASS FUSING I – HOT
FLASHES!!
Instructor: Denny
Pizarro
Get fired up as you learn how to pick the right glass
and all of the ways available to embellish your projects. Have a feast
as your
experiment with frit, noodles, stringers and confetti. This five (5)
week class is designed for students with no previous fusing experience;
however, returning students are welcome to continue their journey.
Operate the kiln with confidence as you learn the stages that glass goes
through
during a firing cycle. Get ready to create in glass and be amazed by
this wonderful medium. Students can expect to make earrings, pins,
and pendants. Students should wear closed-toe shoes and cotton clothing
for
safety. Safety glasses are recommended.
Supplies: Note-taking materials,
sharpie markers, paper towels, straightedge.

GLASS FUSING II – OUT
OF THE FRYING PAN AND INTO THE FIRE

Now that you know about fusing, let’s blow the lid
off!! This 2-day workshop is all about letting your creative juices flow.
Now it’s time to perfect your skills and explore the possibilities
in glass. Students will have the opportunity to slump, manipulate hot
glass, cast, add inclusions and create dimensional pieces with multiple
firings. Add texture to your pieces with paper punches and fiber paper.
This class will allow time to pursue individual interests. Get ready
to create in glass and be amazed by this wonderful medium. Students should
wear closed-toe shoes and cotton clothing for safety. Safety glasses
are recommended.
Supplies: Note-taking materials, sharpie markers,
paper towels, straightedge.
