SCULPTURE
Instructor: Mary Ann Narveson
This class is designed for those who have always wanted
to try sculpture, and for those who have tried and found themselves "home."
Receive instruction and support in using the slab roller and the extruder;
both
valuable tools for conceptual works, whether serious or fantastical.
As a group, the class will take one class time to mix a textural glaze
suitable for non-functional objects and de-mystify those 4 x 6 inch cards
kept in black boxes in the glaze room! Aimed at accommodating the self-starter,
as well as those who haven't quite decided what to do next, development
towards a personal style with clay will be emphasized. No previous experience
is necessary. As with all of Mary Ann's classes, expect some zany
times and choice of subject matters! Bring a notebook to the first class.

EXTRUDE
ME!
Instructor: Mary Ann Narveson
A
two-day workshop aimed at de-mystifying the extruder—that reddish
brown colored machine mounted on the wall in the hand-building room.
For fanciful or functional projects, the extruder can be a valuable tool.
Mutual encouragement, some team work and lots of chuckles make light
work of the technical side of the class. The two six-hour classes insure
that students will have time to finish several projects.
Supplies: Basic
tools will be provided. Bring a notebook for ideas.
