SPINNING TOPS – BEGINNING
SPINNING
Instructor: Heather Winslow
Students will learn to card, spin and ply short and
long staple wools, use hand carders and drop spindles, sort and scour
a fleece and experiment with different
types of spindles. Some experience on the spinning wheel will also be explored.
Supplies to bring: Hand
carders, clean fleece, notebook, pencil, niddy noddy, hang tangs, ten
(10) sandwich bags, drop spindle
and an old towel.

TATTING
SHUTTLE TATTING FOR BEGINNERS
Instructor: Robin Schoenburg
Tatting is a form of lace making using a shuttle
and smooth thread. In this class we are going to cover the basics of
shuttle tatting so that you will be able
to form and follow some simple tatted patterns.
Supplies: Note taking materials,
a tatting shuttle, a t-pin, scissors, and your lunch.
Recommended Text: Tatting
Patterns and Designs by Gun Bloomqvist and Elwy Persson from Dover or any
other book or booklet of tatting patterns.
